Finished painting this OFFICIAL RESCUE PIGGIE today. I did this one for my friends at Austin Guinea Pig Rescue.

I struggled with this one a bit because I needed to light the piggie from the side — which I realized after I’d already done the base layers. Then, because I typically light my paintings face on, I had to figure out HOW to light him from the side. A little pencil and paper scribbling sorted that out in my brain.

I also had the epiphany of using a dip pen with watercolor ink for the letters. I should have thought of that ages ago!

Anyway, thought you’d like to see what I’ve been working on. Now to decide what to paint next!
